A case of sexual harassment of girl students was filed against a paramedical college

THANJAVUR: A case of sexual harassment of girl students was filed against a paramedical college founder in Thanjavur. In a written complaint, the girls stated that the founder Ravanan, allegedly used to peep into the bathroom when the students were taking bath.

According to police, a group of girls who joined the first year nursing course this academic year in the Royal Paramedical college in Thanjavur have also complained that after joining the course they found the college did not have any recognition. They  were made to work in private hospitals in the garb of training and the founder was getting remuneration from the hospitals.

Further, there was no hostel facility as advertised and the students were compelled to stay in the backside of Ravanan’s house located in Teacher’s Colony in Thanjavur, where there was a shed with asbestos roof.

Based on the complaint, Tamil University police on Saturday registered a case against Ravanan.
