Students Told to Inculcate Good Values

VELLORE: IG of police M N Manjunatha called upon freshers of the sixth batch of engineering courses at the Global Institute of Engineering and Technology at Melvisharam to inculcate values and discipline.

Inaugurating the induction programme on Monday, the officer recalled how hardwork had helped him be successful in life. “You can reach great heights only if you have discipline and determination,” he told the students. Quoting ‘Thirukural’ he urged them to follow the teachings of saint-poet Valluvar.

Retired IAS officer Jeevarathinam highlighted the requirements of the vast technical workforce and urged students to tap the potential. “Whatever you achieve and wherever you go, don’t forget to wear a smile always,” he added.

Dr Elaya Perumal, director of Student Affairs, stressed on how education enabled people to become dignitaries. Vellore SP Vijay Kumar also spoke on the occasion.
