MADURAI: Police had to intervene to break up a  tussle at a TASMAC shop here on Tuesday after one of the drunken men went on a biting spree. The man was sent home and no case was registered, officials said.

Inquiry revealed that the man got into a fight with the TASMAC salesman over drinking near the shop. Police said that the TASMAC shop near KK Nagar arch does not have a bar permit and hence the salesman objected to him consuming liquor near the shop.

The man, who was already in an inebriated condition, picked up a fight with the salesman.
