PUDUCHERRY: An unidentified gang hacked to death two youth, including a notorious anti-social element, at Mettupalayam Industrial estate area here on Wednesday night.
According to police sources, Dinesh (25), a rowdy of Muthirayarpalayam and his friend Rajesh (30) were hacked to death while they were consuming liquor near a private industrial unit at Mettupalayam.
Dinesh (25), who was involved in the murder of another rowdy from Auroville area, was reportedly leading a normal life after his marriage.
Police suspect previous enmity to be the cause of the murder. Police suspect the involvement of a rowdy element, Thamizharasan, who was Dinesh’ accomplice in crimes in the past. Thamizharasan was absconding.
Special teams have been formed by the police to nab the culprits. Mettuppalayam police registered a case and investigations are on.
