CHENNAI: The lab technician arrested on the charge of sexually abusing a Filipino woman at Nova Speciality Hospitals in MRC Nagar in the city is a habitual offender who had reportedly abused several women patients while taking X-ray procedures. But, he ran out of luck this time.
The shocking revelations emerged during sustained interrogation carried out by the Mylapore All Women Police Station personnel.
Speaking to Express, a senior police official said the 35-year-old accused, Karthikeyan, had confessed to have misbehaved with several women patients who came to take X-ray.
“Many women patients thought it was the standard procedures to disrobe during X-ray procedures. However, none of them informed their families nor the hospital management,” said the senior police official privy to the
“Karthikeyan who had gone scot-free on numerous occasions repeated it with the Filipino woman. But, he ran out of luck this time,” the official added.
The accused was booked under provisions of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act.
