Jaya, NDA Leaders Greet Tamilisai

CHENNAI: Chief  Minister Jayalalithaa and leaders of the National Democratic Alliance in Tamil Nadu on Sunday greeted Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on her appointment as the state BJP president.

The Chief Minister expressed her happiness over Dr Soundararajan’s appointment as the state BJP chief, an official release said here. She also extended her wishes for the successful fulfillment of her duties as the state BJP chief.

In separate statements, NDA allies the DMDK and PMK also greeted Dr Soundararajan.

Extending his wishes to Dr Soundararajan on her appointment as the first TN BJP woman president, DMDK president Vijayakant said she had made a mark as a gynaecologist, politician, Tamil literary scholar and social activist. He also greeted senior BJP leader H Raja on his appointment as party national secretary.

PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss also greeted the two state BJP leaders on their appointment to the new posts.

Meanwhile, extending his greetings to Dr Soundararajan, H Raja and Lalitha Kumaramangalam on their recent appointment as national secretary and national spokesperson of the BJP, DMK president M Karunanidhi said, “I consider their appointment as an opportunity for them to work more.”
