CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday reviewed the progress of works for implementing the Monorail project. At a high-level meeting chaired by her, senior ministers and officials took part. Last month, Transport Minister had said that tenders would be finalised for implementing Monorail Project and the CM would be laying the foundation for the project. In the policy note for the Transport Department for 2014-15, the minister said to attract developers for the Project under PPP mode, the government had decided to restructure the project for a length of approximately 43.48 km consisting of two projects.
