ATM Attack Case: Bengaluru Police Team in Salem

SALEM: A special police team from Bengaluru on Saturday visited the central prison here to find out if the culprit involved in the 'ATM attack cases' has been arrested in some other case and lodged in jail.

Rajesh, special police inspector, Bengaluru, told reporters that in November last year, a woman bank official was attacked with a machete inside an ATM kiosk with the act caught on CCTV footage. The assailant is still at large.

Investigations led to the discovery that the man was also involved in the killing of a woman in Andhra Pradesh to steal her ATM card and withdraw money.

The image captured in the CCTV footage has been pasted at important places and those who help in identifying the assailant will be rewarded Rs 10 lakh, Rajesh said.
