UDHAGAMANDALAM: A man was allegedly set ablaze by his wife and her paramour in TR Bazaar on Ooty Gudalur area following which the duo were arrested today, police said.
The charred body of a man, with multiple injuries, was found lying some 30 km away from here by a shepherd boy on November 17.
On a complaint from a person from Tirupur that his son Kannan, was missing for the last few days, police identified some of the belongings at the site, where the body was lying.
Further inquiry revealed that his wife, who was working in a factory at Tirupur had an illicit relationship with Saravanan, the manager there, police said.
Both confessed that they brought Kannan, a taxi-driver, to the area in an inebriated state and after beating him to death, set him ablaze using kerosene, police said.
