VELLORE: A 32-year-old man survived a freak accident on Thursday after doctors at the Government Vellore Medical College removed a piece of wood, 1.5 feet in length, which pierced into his chest and later deep into his body as his pelvis in an accident.
The accident happened when Sivakumar, was riding from Arcot to Tiruvannamalai on his two-wheeler and got blinded by the oncoming headlights of a truck forcing him to apply his brakes and crashing into a thatched house where a long piece of wood impaled the left side of his chest.
Sources said that he is responding to treatment and is recovering.
