Lingaa Faces Another Legal Trouble, This Time From Makers of Telugu Film Indra

CHENNAI: Yet another plea, this time at the Principal seat of the Madras High Court, has been made to restrain Rockline Entertainments, Eros International Media and film director KS Ravikumar from releasing ‘Lingaa’ in theatres or through any other mode on December 12. Justice R Subbiah, before whom the petition came up for hearing on Tuesday, adjourned the matter to December 12.

In her application, R Kartheeka submitted that her company - Balaji Studios Private Limited - had acquired the story right to re-make Telugu feature film ‘Indra’ in Tamil, starring Chiranjeevi and Sonali Bendre in July 2010. The petitioner contended that the storyline, dialogues, scene sequences and characters cast in the Telugu film ‘Indra’ have been infringed, adapted and or copied by the three defendants in their Tamil film ‘Lingaa’ , violating the prevailing law.
