Special Trains on Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore Sector to Clear Christmas Rush

Southern Railway said it would operate special trains on December 21, 22, 25 and 26 in Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore sectors to clear Christmas rush.

MADURAI: The Southern Railway on Tuesday said it would operate special trains on December 21, 22, 25 and 26 in the Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore sectors to clear the extra rush of passengers during Christmas season.

It said the Tirunelveli–Chennai Egmore superfast special train (main line) would leave Tirunelveli at 1815 hrs on Dec 21 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 0715 hrs the next day.

The Chennai Egmore–Tirunelveli special train would leave Chennai Egmore at 2245 hrs on Dec 22 and reach Tirunelveli at 12.30 hrs the next day.

Special trains between Tirunelveli–Chennai Egmore (via Chord Line) would also be operated,Railways said in a release.

The Tirunelveli – Chennai Egmore superfast special would leave Tirunelveli at 2115 hrs on Dec 25 and reach Chennai Egmore at 09.00 hrs the next day.

The Chennai Egmore–Tirunelveli special train would leave Chennai Egmore at 21.05 hrs on Dec 26 and arrive at Tirunelveli at 0945 hrs the next day, it said.
