Man Robbed of Rs 10 Lakh by Duo On Bike

CHENNAI: A 50-year-old businessman was robbed of `10 lakhs by a two-wheeler borne duo, near Teynampet here on Monday night.

Police said Sivasami (50), a resident of RA Puram, who runs a wood-furnishing firm, was returning home on Anna Salai, after borrowing cash from a private finance firm from Parrys, when the assailants intercepted him near DBS subway. They knocked Sivasami down from his two-wheeler and attacked him with an iron rod before snatching his cash bag and fleeing the spot. Passersby alerted Teynampet police, who moved the injured to  General Hospital.
