SALEM: A 35-year-old woman allegedly killed her seven-month-old girl child here on Saturday. According to Ammapet police, Unnikrishnan (38), a widower had developed a relationship with a married woman, Kamala (35) of J Ammapalayam.
Two years ago, Kamala had left her husband and four children to live with Unnikrishnan at Vaikkalpattarai. Kamala gave birth to a girl child, Gokilavani, seven months ago.
Police said Unnikrishnan, who used to go out of station on work, developed intimacy with another woman which led to frequent quarrels between Kamala and him. On Friday night, a similar quarrel took place following which, Unnikrishnan, in a fit of rage, asked Kamala to go away with her kid.
Kamala allegedly strangulated the seven-month-old girl, left the body near Unnikrishnan’s house and fled from the spot.
