RAMESWARAM: Sri Lankan navy on Sunday arrested eight Tamil Nadu fishermen on charges of poaching in the island nation's waters.

They were arrested near Katchatheevu, an islet ceded to Sri Lanka by India in 1974, and were taken to Thalaimannar along with their boat, Assistant Director of Fisheries Department, P Ravindran and Rameswaram Fishermen Organisation President, S Emerit said.
