CHENNAI: In line with the allocation of 100 MW out of 150 MW of unallocated power from the first unit of the Kudankulam Atomic Power Plant (KKNPP) to Tamil Nadu on September 27, 2012, Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure that Tamil Nadu is granted 100 MW of unallocated power generated from unit II of KKNPP.

The Chief Minister pointed out that Tamil Nadu had provided all necessary inputs like land, water etc for the expeditious and successful completion of the project even as neighbouring states were not forth coming to take the initiative.

The deft handling of the issue by the State government ensured that there was no disruption in commissioning and running of the KNPP, he added.
