Prime Minster Dr Manmohan Singh has instructed the Ministry of Home Affairs to submit an interim report within seven days on the discovery of powerful pipe bomb in front of Union Minster Narayanasamy’s residence.

The PM has asked the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde for the report, Narayanasamy told reporters here on Sunday.

He said the National Investigation Agency  (NIA), which has been entrusted with the task, is probing the issue on all angles. The planting of the bomb, underneath the car in front of his house had proved beyond doubt that there is no security to political leaders and public in the UT. Stating that the miscreants might have planted the bomb thinking that he was inside the house, Narayanasamy said such a bomb was not detected in any of the Southern States.

He said the PM had spoken to him about it and added that the Union Ministry has tightened his security, which has put him in dilemma as he has been meeting people without any restrictions and now he is not in a position not to do so.
