More Women to be Trained in ITI Trades

Minister for Labour P Rajavelu, inaugurated the new additional building block constructed at a cost of `58.26 lakh, in the Government ITI for Women on N S C Bose Road in Vambakeerapalayam on Sunday,

The block will accommodate new trades like hotel front office, hotel operations and data conversion operator. With the new building, the ITI would be able to impart skills to 100 more women trainees. Ten trainees of the ITI won cash awards in various trades for 2013. The annual meritorious cash awards were given to the best performing trainees among all ITIs. Rajavelu distributed cash awards of `10,000, `7,500 and `5,000 for the first, second and third rank holders respectively.

P R Meena, I A S, secretary to government for labour, G Srinivas, commissioner of labour, S Manohar, chief engineer of Public Works Department, S Thammu Ganapathy, under secretary to government labour, D Thandavamoorthy, principal, Govt I T I for Women, and V Sathiamoorthy, executive engineer, group instructor, staff and ITI students participated.
