Join Nation-building Activities to Shoulder Responsibilities: Kataria

Complementing NCC cadets for their performance at the national camp in New Delhi, Lieutenant Governor Virendra Kataria said the need of the hour is nation building and advised the cadets to shoulder greater responsibilities in times to come since they are the future leaders of the country.

Complementing NCC cadets for their performance at the national camp in New Delhi, Lieutenant Governor Virendra Kataria said the need of the hour is nation building and advised the cadets to shoulder greater responsibilities in times to come since they are the future leaders of the country.

He was addressing the felicitation function of the NCC cadets, who participated at the national camp, at a function in Raj Nivas on Wednesday. Pointing out that youth constitute one third of the population, Kataria said they should be nurtured to shape the nation’s destiny by preparing them to face the challenges emerging due to globalisation, liberalisation and technological developments.

Kataria said he wanted NCC cadets to become role models for society by following the path of righteousness and become responsible citizens. He reiterated his commitment to the young cadets of Puducherry NCC that they would get their due share of benefits and incentives as promised.

Kataria felicitated the 112 members of the National Cadet Corps contingent of NCC directorate, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andaman &Nicobar islands, which participated at the national camp.

The contingent of the directorate managed to defend its championship title in the “All India Vayu Sainik Camp” and finished second runners-up in the All India Nau Sainik camp. Kataria presented eight cadets of Puducherry group with prizes at the function in the presence of Commodore K S Aiyappa, Deputy Director General of the Directorate and Col M K Joshi, Pondicherry Group Commander.
