TN Budget to be Presented on February 13

Finance Minister O Panneerselvam will be presenting the State budget for the financial year 2014-15 on February 13.

Finance Minister O Panneerselvam will be presenting the State budget for the financial year 2014-15 on February 13.  This is his fourth budget since he took over as the Finance Minister of the State in May 2011.

For the last three years, Panneerselvam has been presenting tax-free budgets and this year too, he is expected to do the same. The budget proposals were cleared by the Cabinet on Jan 28.

Governor K Rosaiah, in his customary address to the Assembly on January 30, said  to give a fillip to the economy, the State government had substantially increased the plan expenditure target for the year 2013-2014 to `37,128 crore. For the year 2014-2015, the plan size would be further increased to `42,185 crore.
