The Vaniyampadi Town Police has launched a search for one Muthu and Murthy of Chennai, for attempting to murder Sakthivel.
Sakthivel along with his two friends was on his way to Yelagiri Hills in his car. Murthy was driving the car. Sakthivel was sitting on the front seat while Muthu was sitting on the back seat.
“Muthu tried murder Sakthivel by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon from behind. But, the latter fought hard and jumped from the speeding car,” said a police officer. The incident occurred at 9.45 am when the car was nearing Vaniyampadi new bus stand along the National Highway 46 at Chettiyappanur.
Though he bled profusely, he managed to pull himself and took an auto to GH, where he was admitted.
The doctors treated him and immediately referred him to the GVMCH as the cut injuries were life threatening.
“The victim is not able to speak properly. He is also trying to hide information from us,” said the police officer.
He, however, told the police that the duo had robbed him and stolen his car.
“We registered a case and are on the lookout for Sakthivel’s friends. We will be able to know what happened exactly and the motive behind the murder attempt after an inquiry,” added the officer.
