Former Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi on Thursday put at rest speculation of a possible tie-up of his party with the Congress and DMDK for the coming Lok Sabha polls.
Speaking to reporters here before leaving for Tiruchy where the DMK is holding its State conference, the former Chief Minister said that DMK’s alliance had been firmed up and there was no question of any more change.
“There is no question of any change now that our alliance has been finalised. New parties may come or may not. But we are committed to working with our allies.
The possibility of an alliance with the parties you have mentioned has not arisen,” said Karunanidhi.
Karunanidhi’s clarification comes at a time when Congress circles are abuzz that the Congress and DMDK would work out a partnership and would together have truck with the DMK.
