Sri Lanka Whisks Away 29 Fishermen

The Sri Lankan navy whisked away 17 fishermen of Mandapam, four from Rameswaram and eight more from Jegathapattinam, along with their five mechanized boats from mid sea during the wee hours of Thursday.  Sources said the 21 fishermen were taken to Kankesanthurai later.Around 87 fishermen were detained by Lankan navy on three different dates on the charge of trespassing the International Maritime Borders.
