Refuting allegations of buying land using forged documents, DMK leader Dr MAS Subramanian said the rival group has levelled charges against him and his wife Shanti, due to political jealousy after the growth of DMK in the UT since he took over the reins. The DMK leader said he had decided to move the High Court to rebut all the charges made against him and his wife.

Explaining to reporters with details of the land deal on Tuesday, Subramaniam said, “I refute the allegations as my wife had obtained all necessary documents for the property and is a patta holder. The property was purchased by her after getting necessary clearances and had given proper bank cheque. The plan to construct a house on the property had also been approved by the Puducherry Planning Authority. The authorities concerned had already issued a patta in the name of Rollando Kishore who had sold the property. As a result, there is no prima facie evidence that my wife had committed a fraudulent transaction.”

He said AIADMK State secretary A Anbazhagan has raised the allegations as he was not able to digest the rising popularity of the DMK since he took over. Challenging the AIADMK leader with counter allegations, he asked whether Anbazhagan was ready to show his assets after becoming an MLA.
