The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) has announced a 14-day pilgrimage package covering the ‘Nava Jyothirlinga’ circuit beginning March 16, 2014, from Madurai via Chennai. The tour includes places such as Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Somnath, Bhim Shankar, Triambakeshwar, Grushneshwar, Ayundh Nagnath, Parli Vaijinath and Srisailam.
The charter train carrying the tourists would have 4 three-tier AC coaches and eight sleeper-class coaches, separate pantry car to prepare South Indian vegetarian food. Each coach would have a tourist escort, a securityman to safeguard the baggage and a public address system for making announcements. The tour includes hotel accommodation, wherever night stays are planned and the price is from Rs 17,300 onwards.
