3-day Celebrations in Pondy to Mark Mother's Arrival

A three-day cultural programme for celebrating the centenary of Mother’s final arrival in Puducherrry will be organised from February 28.

The Mother who was born as Mirra Alfassa in Paris, finally arrived here on 24 April 1920 to settle down after her first visit to Puducherry in 1914. The cultural programme will be inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Virendra Kataria at the ashram theatre on February 28. He will also release a book “Shiv Kumar Sharma- The Man and His Music.”

Renowned dancers and musicians will perform on the occasion. A kathak recital by Mahua Shankar, sarangi by Murad Ali Khan and tabla by Akram Khan will be part of many events.
