AINRC Failed to Keep Poll Vows: AIADMK

Anbazhagan said his party candidate M V Omalingam had polled over 1.32 lakh votes and thanked the electorate.

PUDUCHERRY: Slamming the N Rangasamy government for not fulfilling the promises made during the Assembly elections in 2011, AIADMK leader A Anbazhagan said, his party would be in the forefront of the fight for the welfare of the people of the Union Territory.

At a function in Periyar Tidal at Ariyankuppam on Saturday night, he said, the ruling government had failed to implement the promises like the hike in old age pension to  `2,000, distribution of washing machines and free lap tops to students.

Anbazhagan said his party candidate M V Omalingam had polled over 1.32 lakh votes and thanked the electorate.

Stating that his party was committed to the people’s welfare, Anbazhagan expressed confidence that it would be elected to power in the UT, after the 2016 Assembly elections.
