PUDUCHERRY: A candidate from Mahe region of the Union Territory topped the  Biology-based merit list of  Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) and is expected to pursue MBBS.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy, who released the rank list on Monday, said Amal Vincent of Mangakkal, in Mahe, secured 200/200 cut off marks in Biology-based course, while M Anandavel of Puducherry bagged the second rank, scoring same marks and B Pasupathi  Raj of Muthirayarpalayam got the third rank with 199.6 marks.

For engineering course, E Priyangaa, B Bharath and M Lakshmi, all from Puducherry, secured the first three ranks with 200/200 marks.

A total of 6,793 applicants are from the UT of Puducherry (UTP), out of a total of 7,571 applicants. While 3,885 applicants from UTP  opted for Biology-based courses, 5,228 for engineering courses and 1,799 for BPharm courses, the CM said.
