TIRUNELVELI: PMANE coordinator SP Udayakumar  in an open letter to Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday urged her to take steps to stall Koodankulam nuclear reactors III and IV, and V and VI that are in their early stages.

Udayakumar also demanded the CM to look into health issues of people of Koodankulam and Idinthakarai “as KKNPP has spent `5.2 crore over health issues of its workers.”

In his letter, Udayakumar recalled his meeting with the CM in 2011: “During the meeting, when we requested you to stall the KKNPP project following West Bengal CM’s opposition to Harippur nuclear power plant, you replied that the WB project is in an early stage. Now I like to intimate that KKNPP has started preparatory works for reactors 3 and 4, and also for 5 and 6. As these reactors were in their stages, I request you to stall the project.”
