Ganja, Antlers Tusk Seized from Minors

RAJAPALAYAM: Four people, including two minors, were allegedly in possession of ganja at their shop here on Sunday.

Apart from the ganja, weighing 50 kg, antlers of two deer and an elephant tusk were seized from them, police said.

Murali alias Gurusamy (53) of Kumaran Street, Madasamy (50), Kalidass (17) and 14-year-old David (name changed) were arrested by the police following the seizures.

Police officials said they received information about the quartet and a team,  headed by the Additional Superintendent of Police (headquarters) N Stephen Jesubatham and Rajapalayam Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashokan effected the arrests, following the seizure.

Soon following the haul of antlers and tusk, the police informed the forest officials. The Rajapalayam Forest Ranger Balasubramaniam immediately rushed to the spot and conducted investigations.

Police sources said the forest officials would also register separate cases against the four.
