Students Need Life Skills, Say Psychiatrist

TIRUCHY: Students must learn to live their own lives peacefully, rather than chasing the present education set up, said Dr Kannan Gireesh, director, Livelife Education, at a skill development workshop, here on Wednesday.

MAM College of Engineering organised the four- day workshop in a bid to arm the students with life skills, which would be useful in meeting the challenges posed by life itself.

The workshop was conducted by Kannan Gireesh, a psychiatrist, psychotherapist and counsellor, in which around 100 students participated. Addressing the participants, Kannan Gireesh said, life-based education is a much needed for students to prepare for stressful situations and overcome the mindset barriers during the transition from school life.
