Devotees Robbed of 3 Gold Chains

Three gold chains, weighing 13  sovereigns, were robbed from devotees during a function in the Aanaikulath Amman temple atKosapettai here on Sunday.

VELLORE: Three gold chains, weighing 13  sovereigns, were robbed from devotees during a function in the Aanaikulath Amman temple atKosapettai here on Sunday.

According to police, a kumbhabhishekam was in progress when unidentified persons robbed three women of their chains.

A six-sovereign chain from Kasthuri (50) of Kosapettai, a four- sovereign chain  from Pushpalatha (31) of Salavanpettai and a three- sovereign chain from Thiruvani (55) of Poonthotti were stolen. A case was registered in the Vellore South police station and further investigations are on.
