2 Killed, 7 Hurt as Car Rams Tree

Two persons were killed and seven others injured when the car they were travelling in hit a roadside tree near K V Kuppam on Friday night.

The deceased were identified as Perumal 39) and Jaishankar (39), private company employees of Pulivalam near Sholinghur.

Perumal and Jaishankar with their Chennai-based friends Venkatesan (46), Murugan (38), Kumaresan (40), Munisamy (37), Balaji (35), Ravichandran (48) and Sekar (32), were on their way in a car to Bangalore on a business trip.

When the car reached Vaduganthanal near K V Kuppam, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed it into a tree on the roadside.

Perumal and Jaishankar died on the spot. The the injured seven were then rushed to the Government Hospitals in Gudiyattam and Vellore. The K V Kuppam police have registered a case. Further investigations are on.
