Thousands of DMK cadre greeted the party treasurer MK Stalin on his 62nd birthday and engaged themselves in charitable activities to mark the occasion. 

Stalin relaunched his official website www.mkstalin.in and started his Twitter account too.  His first tweet was: “Vanakkam tweeple, I look forward for your thoughts, feedback, and good wishes as always.”

Earlier in the day, Stalin visited his parents DMK president M Karunanidhi and Dayalu Ammal and received their blessings and returned home and cut a cake at his residence in the presence of his family members. Later, when he arrived at the YMCA grounds, DMK cadre gave him a rousing reception.

There too Stalin cut a huge cake. Functionaries and cadre came in long queue with fruits and other presents. Garlands and shawls were presented to him.

Those who greeted him included his sister Kanimozhi, MP, former Union Ministers Dayanidhi Maran and S Thirunavukkarasar, Congress MP JM Haroon Rasheed, Puthiya Thamizhagam MGR Kazhagam president RM Veerappan, former Mayor of Chennai Corporation Ma Subramanian, actor Khushbu and senior functionaries of the DMK.

Actor Rajinikant greeted Stalin over telephone.  Union Ministers P Chidambaram and GK Vasan too greeted the DMK treasurer over telephone.  DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan, VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan and DK leader K Veeramani had greeted Stalin on Friday night by calling on him.
