Congress has decided to undertake constituency-wise padayatras to thwart the “evil designs” of the BJP, Union Minister of State for Prime Minister’s office V Narayanasamy said here on Saturday.

Speaking at a meeting of the Pradesh Congress Committee here to discuss the Lok Sabha polls, Narayanasamy said the BJP was indulging in propaganda against the Congress for political mileage. Hence, it was decided to take out padayatras.

He said Shiv Sena and Akali Dal are the only parties having alliance with the BJP. In Tamil Nadu, the BJP is holding talks with political parties with different ideologies, whereas it is joining hands with Ram Vilas Paswan in Bihar without thinking of any ideology, he added. “BJP is basically a communal party and other parties are reluctant to join an alliance led by it,” he added.

Narayanasamy also claimed that there was good support for his party in Telangana, North-east and other Congress-ruled states.
