Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa expressed grief over the deaths of 19 persons and injuries sustained by 14 in various mishaps.
Offering her condolences, Jayalalithaa announced solatium of `3 lakh to be paid to the families of the TANGEDCO staff who lost their lives on duty, `1 lakh each to the families of those who dies in all the other mishaps and `25,000 and `10,000 to those who sustained major and minor injuries, respectively, in road accidents involving government buses. The solatium is to be paid from the CM’s General Relief Fund.
