Referring to the CM’s request over selection of judges from Puducherry, he said, “It appears that there is no clarity on it as to whether the procedure should be covered by the Union or by an independent authority.
“You must prove your mettle as lawyers through judgement. Once you prove this, then you will have everything,” Justice Agnihotri said. Justice Chitra Venkataraman, Madras HC Judge and Portfolio judge of Puducherry, said the courts were being subjected to an increasing incidence of boycott of court proceedings owing to various issues.
She directed the judicial body members to ensure that the court functions for 220 days and the boycott of proceedings should be kept at the minimal.
