TET Training for Visually Challenged

A 40-day free training for the visually-challenged persons appearing for the Teacher Eligibility Test TET) was inaugurated on Saturday under the aegis of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET).

A 40-day free training for the visually-challenged persons appearing for the Teacher Eligibility Test TET) was inaugurated on Saturday under the aegis of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET).

Professor Mani, attached to the DIET, said the study materials in audio format would be handed over to the participants in a memory card. Study materials in a CD or a pen drive could also be arranged, he added. So far, nearly 30 persons from Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts have enrolled for the training programme.

Dr Marimuthu George, a retired teacher-trainer, a visually challenged man who obtained his doctorate from the State, in his address, wanted the government to arrange transport for the participants to attend the training programme.
