A septuagenarian was killed and torn to pieces in a road accident at T Athipakkam on the Thirukovilur-Bangalore highway in the early hours of Tuesday. The victim was identified as Kannusami (74), a beggar from Thalayampalayam in Tiruvannamalai district. Police suspect that he might have crossed the road during early hours, and could have been run over by a speeding vehicle.
