4 Gangsters Arrested; Gun, Sickles Seized

Four notorious gangsters were have been arrested  during a vehicle check near the Walajapet toll plaza in Vellore. A revolver and five live rounds along with sickles and knives were seized from them.

Four notorious gangsters were have been arrested  during a vehicle check near the Walajapet toll plaza in Vellore. A revolver and five live rounds along with sickles and knives were seized from them.

Police, acting on a tip-off about the associates of notorious rowdy Raja (alias) Vasur Raja (29) of Pudhu Vasur, who was absconding for more than five months, conducted vehicle checks around 4 pm near the plaza in Walajapet. On seeing  the police, four men travelling in a Vellore-bound government bus jumped off the vehicle and took to their heels. A police team led by Walajapet inspector (in-charge) Rajangam chased and arrested them.

The quartet were identified as K Ranjith Kumar (27) of Ennore in Chennai, D Suresh (26) of Alampundi in Villupuram, Sathiyaraj (26) of Tondiarpet, Chennai, and R Jayachezhan (29) of Vyasarpadi, Chennai.
