A day after 15 fishermen of Thondi were arrested, the SL navy arrested another nine from Rameswaram, along with two mechanized boats in the wee hours of Thursday.

Sources said, a group of fishermen ventured into the sea in around 130 mechanised boats from the shores of Rameswaram on Wednesday. While they were at mid sea, the Lankan navy chased away the fishermen from the island nation’s borders. But the navy men detained nine fishermen and whisked them away to Sri Lanka.
