PMANE leader and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member S P Udayakumar on Sunday said that he was not afraid of getting arrested and would soon come out to campaign for his party candidates.

Udayakumar, while addressing the AAP Lok Sabha poll consultative meeting here on Sunday via video-conferencing from Idinthakarai, said they were in touch with the AAP right from its formative days.

Accusing both the Congress and BJP of not implementing any welfare scheme for the common man, he charged that both the national parties were two sides of a same coin. He did not spare the Left parties too and blamed them for not actively supporting their agitation against the Koodankulam nuclear power plant.

Considering these factors, the PMANE members decided to take political plunge, he explained. Charging that natural resources were being exploited in the name of development, he said that his team would work for a sustainable development of the country.

Accusing the political parties of not showing any concern towards the alarming decrease in the level of ground water  of Tamirabarani River, he pitched for a pollution-free agriculture and industry.

Udayakumar, however, promised that he and his supporters would come out soon and if they were not arrested, the entire team would campaign for the victory of AAP candidates.

M P Jesuraj, another PMANE leader, said they took the political plunge to take their demands to the public. AAP Tirunelveli district coordinator Jacob T Bala chaired the meeting. Party election committee coordinator G Josheph Sahayaraj, members S M Ragavan, Lakshmi Kanthan, Selvam, Jamal Mohamed Esa, Selvam, A S Ragu and Musthafa attended the meeting.
