Chief Minister N Rangasamy will present the vote on account in the Assembly on Wednesday.
As the Model Code of Conduct is in force following the announcement of elections on April 24, the CM will present the expenditure requirements for the first four to six months in the fiscal 2014-2015 and seek the concurrence of the house for passing it.
After the new government assumes office at the Centre, full budget will be presented. This will be done after getting approval of the plan size from the Planning Commission.
This Assembly session is expected to be brief in view of the Model Code of Conduct. The Opposition Congress has, however, demanded that members be allowed to raise issues concerning people and bring it to the notice of the government, even though the government is unable to give an answer.
“Assembly is the forum to raise public issues and members should not be denied the opportunity,” said leader of Opposition V Vaithilingam.
