Kerala Couple, Toddler Killed in Accident

A couple from Kerala and their two-year-old boy died in Salem when the  car they were travelling in went off course and fell down from a bridge in the wee hours of Monday

A couple from Kerala and their two-year-old boy died in Salem when the  car they were travelling in went off course and fell down from a bridge in the wee hours of Monday.

According to Mecheri police, the couple George K John, 35, and Sumi Susan, 32, hailed from Thiruvalla Kaviyoor of Pathanamthitta district in Kerala.

A software engineer in Bangalore, he was returning with his wife and two children Albin, 5, and Sebin, 2, after

spending the weekend in their hometown. The car was being driven by one Anish.

Police said when the car reached Thoppur bridge at around 4 am, the driver lost

control and the vehicle fell off the bridge from a height of around 30 ft. In the accident, John and Sebin died on the spot. As it was very early in the morning, no one was there in the vicinity to rescue them. By around 6 am, passersby found the car and informed the Thoppur and Mecheri police. Later, the police took the other three injured occupants of the car to the Dharmapuri Medical College Hospital.
