Stalin Doubts AIADMK-BJP Pact

The DMK treasurer M K Stalin has wondered aloud as to whether a secret pact existed between the AIADMK and the BJP.

The DMK treasurer M K Stalin has wondered aloud as to whether a secret pact existed between the AIADMK and the BJP.

Stalin  expressed this view while addressing a public meeting in Katpadi on Wednesday night.

The meeting was organised in support of the Arakkonam DMK candidate N R Elango. “While the Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has been  attacking all other parties, she has been avoiding comments on BJP or its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.”

“It is not only I who is asking this question but also many other leaders,” Stalin said adding,” Since she has not answered this question,I suspect there must be a secret pact between the AIADMK and the BJP.”

Further, Stalin pointed out that whether in power or not, the DMK was the only party which was interested in supporting the people of this State.

The party president Karunanidhi had been always thinking about the welfare of the people. No other State could have implemented so many welfare schemes for the benefit of this State as the DMK had done during 2006-2011, he added.

District secretary of the party R Gandhi, campaign manager Mohamed Saqui were among the other senior functionaries who were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, after performing a special pooja in the Sendrayan temple at Beemakulam near Alangayam, the AIADMK candidate for Vellore constituency Senguttuvan began canvassing for votes in Alangayam block on Wednesday.

Senguttuvan has almost completed the first round of meeting people in three Assembly segments of Vellore, Anaicut and KV Kuppam in the past one week, ahead of other candidates, who are yet to undertake visits regarding canvassing for polls.

Led by the School Education Minister K C Veeramani, Senguttuvan, along with his  supporters, went around the villages of Naickanur, Poongulam, Marimanikuppam, Mittur and Kurisilapattu in Alangayam block until late evening, sseking support from the electorates.

Vaniyambadi MLA Govi Sampathkumar and district panchayat chairperson Leela Subramanian were among the other party seniors who accompanied Senguttuvan during the campaign.
