Round Two of Captain Campaign

DMDK chief Vijayakant is set to begin the second phase of his campaigning for the coming Lok Sabha polls and the bye-election to the Alandur Assembly constituency. The actor-turned-politician is set to campaign for all the candidates being fielded by his party in the coming polls.

Vijayakant would start the second phase of his campaign in the Tirunelveli constituency on Monday and  work his way to the Alandur Assembly constituency on April 16. This would leave six days of campaigning left for Vijayakant, before polling. Sources in the party have said the schedule for the remaining days would be charted out at a later date.

Vijayakant began the first phase of his campaign on March 14, days before there was clarity on what the final line-up of his alliance would be like.

He had gone on a whirlwind tour, visiting most of the constituencies that are going to the polls, and addressing up to three rallies a day.
