SRP Defends VS, Says His Credibility has Risen

Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan has not made a U-turn from his earlier stance and this is only an allegation unleashed by those who oppose him, CPM politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai has said.

Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan has not made a U-turn from his earlier stance and this is only an allegation unleashed by those who oppose him, CPM politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai has said.

Speaking at a meet-the-press programme organised by the Press Club here on Sunday, he added that VS was always with the stand of the party. “The credibility of VS has been increased. The TP case will not affect the election results of the CPM in Vadakara Lok Sabha constituency or any other constituencies,” said SRP.

He added that TP case was only an issue raised by the UDF against the CPM. The people will not accept this. CPM had conducted an inquiry into whether any party member had links with the killing. The party has no system to reveal names of the members of the commission, said SRP.
