Seven village assistants were suspended for not turning up for election duty in Arakkonam constituency in the district.

DRO K Balaraman said four Village Assistants in Arakkonam taluk and three in Walajapet were placed under suspension for neglecting superiors’ orders. They were assigned to duty at the Counting Centre at Raipettai Engineering College at Thenkadappanthangal on April 24. But they did not turn up for the duty, said the DRO.
