While cool breeze and gales were blowing across the district and other parts of the State were experiencing rainfall on Sunday and Monday, Vellore remained an exception.
People continued to offer special prayers and pujas to invoke the blessing of rain god. Pujas were performed at the Sri Bala Peedam in Arakkonam on Sunday. Prayer was also held near Ambur. The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 34 degree Celsius.
