A citizen of US, James C, was detained before taking his flight to Hyderabad, as officials found two 9 mm bullet casings in his baggage. He was handed over to the police. The American said he was a licensed gun-owner and was in the process of accounting for the bullets.
Meanwhile, four persons, who flew from Sharjah to Chennai, were arrested for concealing gold and attempting to smuggle it past customs.
Mysterious Death
Mystery shrouds the death of a 56-year-old man, a casual labourer identified as Natarajan, who died at the Government Royapettah Hospital on Tuesday, after he slipped and fell in an inebriated state at his residence in Jafferkhanpet on Friday.
Meanwhile, a 48-year-old woman, Selvarani, was injured after a balcony slab broke and fell on her in Kilpauk on Monday while she was walking in front of the house. Neighbours rushed her to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital.
